Thomas Garcia

Thomas Garcia coordinates the Seattle University strength and conditioning program as the head strength coach. Garcia’s program utilizes functional movement and sport-specific programs to prepare each varsity student-athlete for elite level competition.

Garcia began with Seattle University in July of 2008 working as both a certified athletic trainer and strength and condition coach. Within the next year Garcia would transition to full-time strength and conditioning while implementing and overseeing a support staff. Previous to Seattle University, Garcia served as an intern with the Seattle Seahawks NFL team for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. In addition to the Seahawks, Garcia has work experience as a member of the NFL Europa – Berlin Thunder, University of Florida athletic department and San Francisco Giants MLB staff.

Garcia owns a Master of Science in Athletic Training and Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science both from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Garcia is a board certified athletic trainer (ATC), strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), performance enhancement specialist (PES) and is a licensed athletic trainer by the Washington State Department of Health.
